چکیده

Relativistic particle subjected to a general four-force is considered as a nonholonomic system. The nonholonomic constraint in fourdimensional space–time represents the relativistic invariance by the equation for four-velocity ulu + c = 0, where c is the speed of light in vacuum. In the general case, four-forces are non-potential, and the relativistic particle is a non-Hamiltonian system in four-dimensional pseudo-Euclidean space–time. We consider non-Hamiltonian and dissipative systems in relativistic mechanics. Covariant forms of the principle of stationary action and the Hamilton’s principle for relativistic mechanics of non-Hamiltonian systems are discussed. The equivalence of these principles is considered for relativistic particles subjected to potential and non-potential forces. We note that the equations of motion which follow from the Hamilton’s principle are not equivalent to the equations which follow from the variational principle of stationary action. The Hamilton’s principle and the principle of stationary action are not compatible in the case of systems with nonholonomic constraint and the potential forces. The principle of stationary action for relativistic particle subjected to non-potential forces can be used if the Helmholtz conditions are satisfied. The Hamilton’s principle and the principle of stationary action are equivalent only for a special class of relativistic non-Hamiltonian systems. 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Non-Linear Generalization of the Relativistic Schrödinger Equations

The theory of the Relativistic Schrödinger Equations is further developped and extended to non-linear field equations. The technical advantage of the Relativistic Schrödinger approach is demonstrated explicitly by solving the coupled Einstein-Klein-Gordon equations including a non-linear Higgs potential in case of a Robertson-Walker universe. The numerical results yield the effect of dynamical ...

Remarks on the GNS Representation and the Geometry of Quantum States

It is shown how to introduce a geometric description of the algebraic approach to the non-relativistic quantum mechanics. It turns out that the GNS representation provides not only symplectic but also Hermitian realization of a ‘quantum Poisson algebra’. We discuss alternative Hamiltonian structures emerging out of different GNS representations which provide a natural setting for quantum bi-Ham...

Semi-relativistic Charge-current Density Operator

The charge-current density and two-photon operators consistent with a single-particle semi-relativistic Hamiltonian are derived within a suitable functional derivative formalism which preserves gauge invariance. An application to electron scattering is presented and results are compared with a fully relativistic case and the non-relativistic cases corrected through fourth order in M−1.

Experiments in PT −symmetric quantum mechanics

Extended quantum mechanics using non-Hermitian (pseudo-Hermitian) Hamiltonians H = H is briefly reviewed. A few related mathematical experiments concerning supersymmetric regularizations, solvable simulations and large-N expansion techniques are summarized. We suggest that they could initiate a deeper study of non-localized structures (quasi-particles) and/or of their unstable and many-particle...
